1. Check the water heater
tank, if it is leaking, then the water heater needs to be replaced.
Instructions for doing so are not in this article.

2. Check the fuse or circuit breaker for the
circuit that is connected to the water heater. Maybe your fuse is damaged and must
be replaced or the circuit breaker may have to be reset. If electricity is being supplied to
the water heater, but there is no hot water, continue below.
3. Reset your water heater, usually a reset
button under the top access panel on the side of the tank. Press and wait for
20 minutes, if you have hot water.

4. If the water heater stops working again
shortly after that, you can flush your water heater. This may be able to fix
this problem. See the article on "how to flush a water heater". If this does not work, you may need to replace a
thermostat or a heating element, We will post an article about it soon.
